Super nice and aromatic, i can’t say anything about the fish sauce because i didn’t add it

Everything was wonderful - great aromatics - until i added the fish sauce. After that it smelled like an open sewer pipe and tasted awful.
Fish sauce and duck stock seem like an odd pairing but i was being adventurous. Perhaps a specific fish sauce recommendation would be appropriate.
Also 2 tbsp of salt was overkill - 1 tbsp would have been plenty
