I have made this quite a few times and it never fails to be a hit with my family and friends. I skip the pearl onions. Yummy!

Beef and broth tasted great, cocktail onions and peas were not necessary and detracted from the stew base

Tired out terrific! I read some of the reviews so I tweaked it by adding more peas, nixxing the cocktail onions, and adding a decent amount of salt and pepper.
Really tasty!

Turned great. I like it if I become a hero in my wife’s kitchen.

I made this today and it was delicious. I followed the recipe exactly as stated only I had to use dried thyme. Also I added more cocktail onions than what was called for only because I didn’t know what I’d do with the extra onions. They gave the liquid part of the stew a little extra zip since they were quite tangy. I’d definitely make this again only next time I’m going to serve some bread to get all the stew liquid!

Followed the recipe exactly and it was awesome! My only ammendment would be to add a little more salt, probably with the thyme and parsly. Worth every minute of prep though.

I omitted the tomato paste and the vinegar plus doubled the recipe. I got ALL the compliments

This was my second bite at the apple. It was much better this time around. I still forgot to add peas & mushrooms, but it still good. This recipe goes into the rotation for sure.

My go-to stew! I don't have a Dutch oven so I cook the beef in a large skillet, deglaze with red wine, pour that into a crock pot and cook the mixture there. I run it for 6 hours to get the beef nice and tender. I also leave off the diced onion and just add more cocktail onions.

Fantastic the only thing I did different was use left over prime rib

Best stew I ever made (perfect) wife doesn’t like peas so left them out used chuck roast trimmed some fat off but not all wine took care of rest. Going to make stew from this recipe all the time

Nice, good. Would make it again

Awesome recipe although I made a few tweaks. I used corn-starch instead of flour, added mixed veggies, 1 can whole peeled tomatoes, & after I browned the beef I combined all ingredients minus potatoes & mixed veggies. Panned, covered, & baked. Added potatoes & veggies later. This was my first time cooking beef stew & my husband gave me kudos ......he rarely admits my cooking is better than his.

The whole family loved this. I used dry herbs but was fantastic!

Turned out great, will definitely make again. Nice flavour and you can adjust spices to your liking. I used flat leaf parsley sprigs and they did not hold up well. I'll use curly leaf the next time.
