Description

Before we get into why this smoked sausage alfredo recipe with Hillshire Farm® Smoked Sausage is so out of this world, let’s just be sure we’re on the same page. If you thought Alfredo was named for a certain famous actor and his onscreen traitor sibling, well, that would be cool, but no. Alfredo is actually a type of Italian pasta sauce that gets its name from a late-19th-century Roman chef. The rich and creamy gravy is traditionally made with emulsified Parmesan cheese and butter. The sauce — along with the fettucini noodles it’s traditionally served with — likely jumped the pond from Italy to America when magazines and travel books began writing about the dish and the famous chef who invented it…

Alfredo sauce may sound complicated, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Our recipe, which calls for using a package of fully cooked, Hillshire Farm® Smoked Sausage, takes just 15 minutes, from countertop to table.

Something people seem to enjoy a lot about our recipe is that it’s a Cajun and Italian fusion. The Italian flavors derive from the Alfredo, naturally. But by combining it with Cajun seasonings and Hillshire Farm® smoked sausage, made with choice cuts of beef, turkey, and pork, it’s a whole new kind of rich and deeply smoky-flavored meal the entire family will love.

The family loved it! And my kids are hard to please so thats saying something. I only used half the Seasoning though and added spinach instead off chives. It was delicious and may become a favorite.

Excellent dish. My kids weren’t crazy about the Cajun seasoning but I just won’t add it next time. Did not make great leftovers as the cream separated and became slimy. But great dish overall.

my 4 kid's 9-14 yrs old areeeee very picky( if you have kids these days you know)..... i made this but instead of chives i did green onions pretty much the same thing. But then at the end i chop mozzarella balls in half and added when served....everyone including mama loved it! Gotta have that garlic bread with pasta the Italian side on me to wipe the plate clean! I gotta say for cook & prep time THE EASIEST I EVERY MADE! ❤❤❤❤❤ FIVE HEARTS/STARS
