I’m using leftover pulled pork juice along with the water. Only making 1/2 the recipe because I didn’t have enough pinto beans. The salt in the pork juice stopped the beans from getting soft. Either that or they were very old. Boo hoo, I’ll try again with just the water.
Second time making these. Came out perfect. I must have had very old beans. Great flavor and very creamy. Going to try the black beans next.

This was great. I made these and then made refried beans out of them. Omg so good

Used a slow cooker and had plenty of leftovers.

It came out perfect after 5 1/2 hours on high. Big hit with my husband.

This recipe was very easy and The ingredients are pretty standard. The beans took longer than I expected to cook. Close to ten hours and I turned the crockpot on high for the last two hours. I expected this recipe would be able to stand on its own, but I think it’s best mixed into something. Goi g to make the leftovers into retried beans.
