- 1 loaf day-old challah (or Italian bread, 16-18 oz. per loaf)
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups half and half
- 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/3 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 Tbsp. salted butter (melted)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
- powdered sugar (for serving)

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Spray a 9-inch baking dish liberally with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
- Cut the bread into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

very easy and delicious, I made a simple glaze to go over the top, yummy way to start fall.

really great recipe though I substituted some things too lower the carb count. heavy cream instead of milk, stevia baking brown sugar instead of regular brown sugar and toast instead of baguettes. overall I love this though and with a bit of vanilla ice cream this is wonderful
