Description
Combining the flavors of pear and green matcha tea, these muffins are topped with caramelized almonds and pistachios for a satisfying crunch with each bite. Made with coconut oil and almond milk, these muffins are dairy free.

- sliced almonds
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp. coconut oil
- 1 pears (cubed)
- 2 cups unbleached flour
- 3 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3 1/4 tsp. matcha green tea powder
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 cups almond milk
- 1/4 cup brown sugar

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Prepare the crumble: Mix pistachios with handful of almonds, 1/4 cup sugar, and 2 tablespoons coconut oil. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, matcha tea, and salt.

These are excellent. The directions were a little unclear about the sugar- I used white sugar in the batter and the crumble, and added about 1-2 teaspoons of molasses to the crumble. I prefer the pear almost minced. Anyway, they're delicious and just the right amount of sweet.
