- 2 onions (large, peeled and thickly sliced)

Directions
- Evenly layer ingredients into a large stew pot or Dutch oven in this order: Sauerkraut, juniper berries, onion, apples, brown sugar and ribs. Bring to a boil, lower heat, cover and simmer gently for 2-3 hours, until ribs are very tender.

Not sure what happen? if anyone could give advice it would be great. the ribs are very very bland when i made them. had to put BBQ on them justbto eat it. I thought id taste the brown sugar and the berries. May try to make again with less water or add more berries and sugar
