So the recipe itself is fairly straightforward and there's no steps that involve anything too convoluted. The positive I got from this is that it's ridiculously light. But the issues I have are that: 1) The cake did not rise. At all. It essentially remained at the same height when I placed it in the springform. Whether it's something I did or the instructions left out is unclear. 2) It's bland. Getting a second opinion from my father even confirmed my experience. Which is probably why the OP probably put powdered sugar and berries on theirs. If I was to remake this I'd add more lemon juice, maybe even lemon zest, another 1/4 cup of sugar or even vanilla extract to give it any sign of flavor.

Pretty good. Definitely needs whip cream or berries like in the picture. It’s not super sweet, so added sweetness is nice. I wish I didn’t put the confectionery sugar on it though…

Excellent it was a lighter creamier cheesecake, more like a custard tasted like there was coconut even though there wasn’t any in the recipe thank you

I made this recipe while I was mildly intoxicated. I messed up a few times. I accidentally put egg whites in the recipe
along with the yolks and then realized I was supposed to have whipped the egg whites. I ended up pouring out 1/3 of the batter and adding in the meringue. I then didn't use foil underneath my spring pan so water got inside the pan. Overall I’d say it turned out pretty decent tho. I feel it would’ve risen and not cracked more if I didn’t put in the egg whites twice but the taste is still there. Because of other reviews saying it tasted like an ‘omelette’ I added vanilla and more lemon than the recipe asked for.

Cake turned out fine visually, but flavorless and bland. If I’m going to spend hours on a recipe, it needs to taste much better than this.

Very nice Cheesecake. Cheesecake has always been my favorite dessert, and now the japanese cheesecake is my favorite cheesecake. I made some Kaki Jelly to go with it and it was great.

It is really light and airy like the recipe said. Mine didnt brown on top like it shows though and, the recipe said that it would rise above the spring form pan but my cake didn't. Dispite these small things, I'll defiantly be making this again.
