We love this cabbage. It’s always a hit when I cook it.

Great I really like this combination seeing how cabbage can be boring sometimes this kicks it up a notch.

Very easy to make and delicious 😋

Great side. I had no onion - instead doubled garlic and added 2 tsp fresh ginger. Used 1 jalapeño and added scotch bonnet hot sauce for spice bc that’s what I had in the house. Will def make again.

The Jamaican Steamed Cabbage was so very good!!! I was looking for something to make with cabbage and this was one of many recommendations. I added some extra seasoning. I will make this again and again

This was very tasty and seasoned. I did add just a bit of salt to taste. It also have a mild heat to it because instead of adding the 1/4 of an orange habanero mixed and chopped with the onion a fresh garlic. It was amazing. Will definitely be making again.

I definately made a number of mods to this. I put a few more of my "leftover" foods in with it. Jalapeno instead (you know... kids). It went over well with the kids. That's important to me!

Awesome! I made a few adjustments as I didn't have all the ingredients but it was still delicious!😁

For me the directions were somewhat confusing and unclear.
I didn't use the oil, I sauteed in water which I always do.
The recipe ingredients called for 1 onion and in the directions I recall it saying green onions so I used maybe an 1/8th of a yellow onion plus 3 stalks of green onions.
I also halved the recipe and used jalapeno...I thought it was very bland so I added some garlic powder, extra thyme and plenty of Ethiopian Berbere spice and then it was edible....technically now I suppose it's no longer a Jamaican dish but of Ethiopian (some added potatoes would have sealed the meal!)....if I'd of had some Jerk seasoning I'd have tried it so as to keep it Jamaican....Now that it's gone and the house smells like ethnic food I realize it would have been tasty with Field Roast Italian Sausages (I eat vegan) to compliment the Berbere spice.
I don't think I will make this recipe again.

I added a little vinegar to mine. Didn't have a scotch bonnet. But we loved it. It tastes like what we get from the Jamaican place.

Cut in half for 2 servings, but did the full amount of black pepper, carrot, and thyme. Added 1/2 tsp of salt and a sprinkle of cayenne and crushed red peppers. Pretty good and very healthy!

Delicious, easy, hearty, great for reheating, and perfect comfort food! Easy to modify if you’d like. Separately, I made the sweet & spicy sauce mentioned in the recipe and that was also phenomenal! This has become one of my go-tos

Exceptional! This recipe is what Yummly is all about; quick, easy, and delicious. Needed more salt.

Turned out great!!! Tip: Actually “shred” the cabbage, so you don’t cut too thick.
