This bread turned out like a brick- too heavy and dense. It didn’t rise, seemed undercooked (even with extra time in the oven), and was difficult to cut. The flavor was good, but I’d be embarrassed to serve it to company. I know that this kind of bread is not supposed to be light and airy, but it shouldn’t be as heavy as a doorstop either.

Simple and effective. Great for dipping in sweet or savory stuff, or with butter & a sprinkle of cinnamon. I used dried cranberries.

Delicious moist soda bread! I substituted baking powder with cream of tartar because I didn’t have baking powder. Easy to make quickly to go!

perfect.........We prefer lightly greasing an iron skillet and baking the bread about 60 to 65 minutes at 350 degrees.

Best soda bread! I soaked the raisins in hot water first. I also used regular milk, not buttermilk and it turned out great!
