Tasted great. I’m an 80-year old beginner cook. So the dumplings will take more practice. They were ok, but didn’t hold together very well, which was my inexperience and not the recipe. Very enjoyable as a soup.

I loved this! But for some reason my husband didn’t and it makes a LOT so I froze the soup sans the dumplings. I guess it will make great lunches for me :)

BEST. SOUP. EVER. Hands down. Could not find sweet paprika, used 2/3 regular and 1/3 smoked. Recipe makes a ton of delicious simple dumplings, and I will double the soup part next time! Didn’t use vadalia onions, used a lot of regular small onions. Used chicken broth to cover the chicken instead of water. Used chicken pieces. Strained out the cooked chicken and deboned.
Completely in love with this soup...

First time and will deft be a staple in our home! I had homeade broth on hand to use which is always way better tasting.
I only had half of the flour so I just made half a batch if dumplings which was perfectly adequate. I cut up a whole organic chicken into wings, drums, thighs, breasts then actually sauted the left over caucus in a lil veg oil to put in a crock pot with onion, celery, carrots, black peppercorns & salt filled with water to make another homeade batch of broth for another day. I cooked the onions and added some minced garlic in that oil as directed. Continued with the rest of the recipe and made it by cooling & deboning the chicken adding the dumplings and serving it all together, garnished with fresh parsley. The lowerys seasoned salt was deft a great addition. I have never ever made Hungarian food before, but I would even consider adding fresh Parmigiano next time.

I really love this recipe but did change a few things. 1: I cooked the chicken the shredded it before placing it in the fluid. 2nd, I used chicken stock in place of water and cubes. I also added some cayenne pepper and smoked paprika too.

I have made chicken paprika a few times and was about to give up. Mine never comes out like everybody else's. I have tried so many recipes. Now I can stop looking.
I used chicken thighs and it has it so much flavor.

Omg. I’m so happy that I found this recipe, it came out fantastic. Thank you grandma for that step of the seasoning salt because that made a world of difference.

This was very good, flavor was amazing, I could eat the sauce and dumplings just themselves! The dumplings are bang on to my Mom and Baba’s and I am so excited to have found this receipe! Took a while to make but so worth it!!! Only wish I had more of a red color to it like the original photo - I used Hungarian Sweet Paparika just like the receipe called for!

This is great. Very similar to the recipe I’ve been trying to replicate for years from an old Hungarian lady back in Ohio. Closest so far. My kids go crazy for it. Good old Eastern European comfort food for sure. It is a must try.

Great Recipe! I have made this recipe twice.... the first time I made dumplings exactly as recipe instructed with regular flour and they turned out great! This time I made the dumplings gluten free .... just used Cup for Cup flour in place of regular flour and dumplings turned out great again! This is a great easy to make recipe ... reminded me of my husbands Grandmother's recipe and she was Hungarian and made wonderful Chicken Paprikash with Dumplings.

This recipe is fantastic. My husband put away two helpings before I had even finished dishing some out for myself. Great recipe to use with a pressure cooker.

I am Hungarian too! My Grandmother, Mother and me all make it like you do! It's our family's comfort food.
