i haven't been able to eat sloppy joes in years, but it's one thing I really miss eating, and was a lovely childhood memory.... this recipe brought me right back to those wonderful memories.... it tastes just like the canned version without the stuff I'm allergic to :D ... i don't think it will serve quite as many people as it claims, but it did stretch more than it looked like it would.
it regeated really well too .. and im sut you could add some extra water, oil or sugar if the taste or portion size isn't quite right for you... personally I liked it just as it was, and plan to make it again... also, this would be easy to double if you are expecting company :D

I tend to not like sloppy joes but this was very good. I could imagine the next day it would be awesome.

Great flavor, a bit scanty for 4 servings and could use more moisture. My husband doesn’t like onion so I double the bell pepper (which is still only 1/2 of a very large pepper), and this time I added a can of petite diced tomatoes, drained. That helped with the quantity and moisture just enough, and it’s so good! Like to serve with cheese.

My family lives this recipe!! We've been making it about once a week for the past few months. We like to add diced carrot, celery and bell peppers too!

Awesome recipe, I make it over and over. Family loves it and I like it uses healthy ingredients.

Too much vinegar and not enough sweetener to compensate for the sour tomato paste. Didn’t taste like any sloppy joe I had ever eaten. I salvaged it by adding some sugar and a tablespoon of worchestshire. I would make this again by cutting the vinegar in half, replacing the molasses with brown sugar and adding a tablespoon of worchestshire sauce.

delicious! my husband and i loved it. my 4 year old is maybe not a sloppy joes girl... ? what kid doesn't like sloppy joe's?! but anyway, i followed the recipe to a t until i went to add the tomato paste. i could see that it was going to be very thick, so i added a can of water. everything married well in the pan, and it was just the right consistency when it was done!

i substituted ground beef with half 98% fat free ground white turkey/ half ground chuck to made it healthier. i do this with any ground beef recipe for health reasons. Family loved it!

Quick to fix and had a robust smoky flavor. They are on the thick side, but I like that. My husband would have liked them a bit more sloppy. I will definitely make them again, but might add a bit of water to thin them.
