Description
Bring all the smells and essence of your favorite French bakery to your kitchen with these homemade French baguettes. These baguettes are made with a mixture of strong and white flour and require no yeast, using baking powder as the rising agent. Brushed with a cornflour and water mixture after shaping, slashes are then cut into the baguettes before baking for the traditional look. Bake time on these baguettes is 35 minutes, with additional brushing of the cornflour mixture every 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 400 grams strong flour
- 100 grams white flour
- 3 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 300 mL warm water
- 1 tsp. cornflour
Directions
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl add the white flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and baking powder.
- Add the water and stir until smooth.
