- 1 1/2 cups diced yellow onion (from 1 large or 2 small onions)

- 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage (bulk, i.e., sausage with the casings removed -- see note below)

This has become my go-to Thanksgiving stuffing. It was especially good because we left it in the oven until the top was really crispy. Nothing soggy about this stuffing! The only addition I may consider next year (or sooner) is sautéed mushrooms.

I have tried multiple stuffing recipes trying to find just the right one, and this was is it. I left out the rosemary, just because I don't like rosemary and I used sage sausage instead of italian sausage. This has become my go to homemade stuffing recipe. Very flavorful, and everyone loved it!
