I have tried many monkey bread recipes but I think this is the best! This is the only recipe I have seen that calls for vanilla, but I did not use it because I did not have any on hand. (Also, the recipe does not show what to do with the vanilla but I would assume you would add it to the butter and brown sugar mixture.)
I was originally going to make another recipe and had already bought two loaves of Rhodes frozen bread loaves. Then I found this recipe that sounded so much better so I just used my frozen bread instead of the canned biscuits that this recipe calls for. Everyone at the dinner said this was much better than the my previous biscuit monkey bread, so that is something else you might want to try sometime.
Some of my monkey bread recipes have come out of the oven over baked, hard and dark on the top. So, what I did with this recipe was to set my oven on 330° instead of 350° but baked it for the full 32 minutes. It was light golden brown and perfect! So you might want to try that if you have a oven that seems to run a little hot. Thanks for the recipe, it was loved by all at our Christmas dinner!
