- 1 1/2 cups dark beer
- 10 garlic cloves (peeled and minced)

- 3 Tbsp. Japanese rice vinegar (or Chinese)
- 1.5 oz. semisweet chocolate (or bittersweet, chopped, I used Xocopili)
- 1/2 tsp. red chili powder
- 1 cup hoisin sauce

The best short rib recipe I have made I did add 8 oz beef stock instead of water I cooked it on low in a slow cooker and added the Hoison sauce after 4 hours. After cooling for a total of 6 hours, it was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender!,
