Used this to make a whisky old fashioned. I’m lazy so bought candied orange peel. Not super orangey but that’s my laziness at fault! Will be using this recipe a lot!!

Never substitute maple syrup for sugar, unless you don’t like good bourbon. It will only mask its flavor.

Did w/ tsp of maple syrup instead of sugar

If you substitute 1 cherry for the sugar (premium brand) and macerate it, it adds a lot of flavor be sure to rub the orange peel on the rim also

I make these always, love with makers mark or warthens, I substitute a tsp of real maple syrup for the sugar gives it a wonderfully spicy note

An old favorite for many years. Easy on the bitters: it can be very overpowering. Make sure to give the orange peel a real good twist to release the orange oil. For fun you can substitute rye or Irish whisky. No scotch please.
I am chuckling over the recipes statement of 40 calories. If only that were true.

Turned out great! Used Samuel Grant Bourbon, not the most extravagant stuff, but over all this tastes great! Gonna have fun playing around with this recipe in the future!
