Ordinarily when things say something like “best vegan recipe for x ever!” they’re full of it. This is not one of those recipes. You definitely should play around with it to make it perfect for yourself and your life, but it’s amazing as is and I feel blessed to have found it. Lord knows lentils and rice are cheaper than beef and pork nowadays

It didn’t hold together but it tasted good. I added tahini and Worcestershire sauce.

This was very good. I didn’t mash the lentils much, so it looked a little crumbly, and I added an egg and about 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, it came out more like meatloaf. I also kept a little of the mixture and used it to make a patty, worked really well. Definitely will make this again.

Loved this. The cumin gives it a great flavor. Make sure to cook it for the whole 60 mins or a little more so it gets a crust & won't fall apart so easily. Next time I make it I'm going to try mashing only 3/4 of the lentils & leaving 1/4 whole to give it a coarser texture (it's very smooth & silky).

So Good! i added extra ketchup thats 50% less sodium and sugar and organic.

Used food processor, so I think ingredients stuck together better than just mashing lentils with a fork

Honestly tastes like the real thing. So wonderful when paired with mashed potatoes 🤤

This is so good! Taste is great, like others said it doesn’t stick together so I added 1 flax egg and will probably do 2 next time because it was still crumbly. Will definitely be making it again

It did not firm up at all. Ended up being a mixed up brown rice mixture and not a loaf. It tasted very good but disappointed it did not come out firm like a meatloaf at all. Crumbled everywhere.

Good vegan recipe! As with other reviews, didn’t stick together great, but taste was on point. Added a ketchup/brown sugar/vinegar glaze. Would reduce the rice a bit next time

Phenomenal. Added a little egg substitute to "hold it together", other than that no substitutions.
Easy, straightforward and will certainly make again.

Delicious flavors. Made it with BBQ sauce. It dod not hold together well as others noted, so will try adding flax meal and water next time.

I tried and loved it.

It was really tasty, but it didn’t hold together well.

Flavors were great. Instead of ketchup topping I did a liquid smoke tomato paste/cider vinegar/br sugar paste. Did not hold together at all(hence only 4 stars), will use a flax egg next time. Will make again for sure.

This was good, easy to prepare but didn’t fit into a 9”x5” pan. I used sweet potato instead of carrot as I didn’t have a carrot, it was a bit sweet so I will use carrot next time. I used less rice and added 1/4 cup of oats and added tomato purée rather than ketchup or BBQ sauce. I also added some sage which is a favorite in meat loaf. Will make it again

This recipe is delicious and fairly easy to make. I didn’t add the cumin because for me it didn’t sound good, but I did add an egg substitute out of flax meal and water to hold it together. This recipe was amazing!!!

It didn’t really stick together but I thought flavor was good. Added catsup after it was done which improved it. Hubby likes lentil loaf generally but thought this was only ok so it loses a star there.

Great recipe, the ketchup is too sweet. Next time I will cut the amount of rice and lentils in half and use less ketchup. I enjoyed the food, it was just too much at one time.

Loved it. Used an egg instead of ketchup as a binder. Used 1:1 rice-to-lentil ratio. Didn't slather it with ketchup. Couldn't ask for more.

I used a little less rice, was generous on the spices, added 3 eggs to make it stick together and used BBQ sauce -it turned out great!

Too much rice to lentil/veg ratio! I would do one or 1.3 next time

AWESOME! Loved it!
Would make again!

It’s delicious and super easy to make!! It’s a good base, but it needs more depth of flavor since it was a little too sweet.

Super yummy, a hit with teenagers. I am thinking it would stay together better if I used potato starch and water. Nevertheless a success.

I used white rice and it turned out good.

An awesome recipe. I made it with quinoa instead of rice. The hubby said I should make it once a week.
