These juicy Buffalo chicken tenders are a spicy baked dish that people of any age can enjoy! With homemade ranch dressing, these super easy baked chicken dippers make a great main dish for a weeknight dinner or tailgating party for finger foods with a healthy slant.


  • 2/3 cup all purpose flour (or panko breadcrumbs, if you prefer a crunchy coating)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts (divided into 10 tenders)
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce

    1. Line baking dish or cookie sheet with aluminum foil, and spray it lightly with cooking spray. Coat chicken tenders thoroughly in a mixture of the flour (or panko breadcrumbs), cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Shake off excess flour or panko breadcrumbs.
    2. Place chicken strips onto the prepared baking sheet. Refrigerate for at least one hour.
    3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).

    Given some of the reviews, I modified this recipe by pounding the chicken until thin, dredging it in ranch dressing (or you could use blue cheese) first then coating it in the described panko mixture. I baked it by putting the cutlets on a cooling rack on top of a cookie sheet so it was an inch or so off the cookie sheet for maximum crispness all the way around. I baked it fully until brown. I put it on plates and drizzled it (or kinda soaked it) with the hot sauce and butter mixture and served it w a side of blue cheese. It was fabulous, almost like Nashville Hot Chicken!

    Awful! Made a mess and looks NOTHING like the photo! Tried again by adding another dip in bread crumbs and that only made it marginally better. If you really want to make this, fry the chicken and mix butter and hot sauce to coat! I hate when the photo is clearly not the recipe!!

    Great taste, perfect amount of heat, turned out perfectly. I had to improvise since I didn’t have panko breadcrumbs. I used a combo made up of flour and smashed/crushed potato chips. Will definitely be making this again!

    Pretty tasty but modified based on other reviews. Dipped in hot sauce/butter mixture first and then bread crumbs, used panko not flour as suggested. Double battered as well. Cooked for about 25 min and then quick broil. Used parchment paper not foil as well. Family enjoyed it. Served with brown rice and broccoli with a light cheese sauce

    I double battered it then fried in a lil oil to get the sides crispy before baking it to cook it all the way through this came out good and crispy the pieces I didn’t cook on the stove long enough first kind of peeled on the foil when baking

    They didn’t turn out too bad actually. Though they were somewhat bland for my taste ( I followed the recipe precisely, and even added some Tony Chachere’s) there was another trick that I used. Double batter them! When you get them out the fridge, go once in the hot sauce mix, once in the remaining batter. Do this a total of two times if you’re using flour. Other than that.. I might make again just to try them with the breadcrumbs

    the only thing i did differently with this recipe was coat the chicken with the sauce first and then the dry ingredients (made with breadcrumbs). It made the chicken crispier but still tried to come off when flipping them. This is a bland recipe. The chicken came out dry and there was barely any flavor. Won't be making again.
