  • 1/4 cup olive oil (for sauce)
  • 2 teaspoons salt (for sauce)
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (for sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 cans canned tomatoes (preferably San Marzano, 28 oz. per can)
  • 1 pound 80% lean ground beef (preferably course ground chuck)
  • 1 pound ground pork (preferably course ground butt)
  • 2 teaspoons salt (for meatballs)
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (for meatballs)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground fennel
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Italian style breadcrumbs (unseasoned)
  • 2 large eggs

    Perfect! this will be my go to red sauce forever! I'm going to fry my balls in good olive oil then finish cooking them in the sauce till done.

    Turned out great, I slow cooked the sauce for like 6 hours, and I left my feta cheese in chunks, and the meatballs turned out incredible!
